When I was searching for a preschool a couple of years ago, I was directed to Monarch Christian Montessori by some other parents whose children attended here. I was immediately impressed by how quiet the school generally is. If you peek in during the mid-morning, after the flurry of drop offs and after the morning circle time, you will see children all over the classroom, working on a variety of tasks. There are some doing practical life-- like matching nuts and bolts in various sizes (my three-year-old son’s favorite last year) or counting endless strings of tiny colored beads (my five-year-old daughter’s favorite last year) and writing down skip counting. Sometimes, two or three children work together on a single activity, while other children work independently. I think the parents who are drawn to MCA are looking for an academic setting combined with Christian values in a smaller, more intimate school. I’ll never forget how last year my first grader and I went to a pumpkin farm with her public school field trip and my four-year-old preschooler knew more about the life cycle of a pumpkin than we had heard from the pumpkin farmer! More than academics though, my children are learning important faith values: obedience, faithfulness, and as my three year old son says, “Self-control means you keep your arms and legs to yourself and you wait to speak when it’s your turn". The smaller school size means that the director and the teachers know all of the children, even the ones who are not in their specific class. Even the children know whose parents belong to which child, and call out to my children that I’m there to pick them up. Our family has been incredibly blessed to call Monarch Christian Montessori our school. It has continued to challenge us to help our children be self-motivated and engage in learning, not for approval or praise but because the children find satisfaction in the process of learning. Now if I could just find a school like this for adults!
Monarch Christian Montessori has had an extremely positive influence on our now 3-year old daughter, Anna. Initially, we were primarily interested in providing Anna with the opportunity to socialize with other children her age and engage in activities that fostered learning and creativity with an emphasis on Christian values. Very quickly, we learned that MCM offers so much! Anna's experience at MCM has exceeded all of our expectations. Although the facility and the curriculum are impressive on their own, it is the kind, patient, caring, and loving staff that truly makes MCM special!!
As we have come to the last year at Monarch Christian Montessori for our oldest son, Josiah, we bitter sweetly reflect on why we love bringing our boys to this wonderful school. Josiah started at MCM as a three-year-old and has attended since the school opened. Nathaniel started with the first two-year-old class. We feel that our boys are genuinely loved by the teachers and the director, Ms. Grace. The teachers have approached teaching and interacting with our boys, Josiah (5) and Nathaniel (3), in ways that are tailored to their different personalities. Although the teachers are dedicated to giving the children a great education at this school, there is an emphasis on developing their character, helping to set a solid foundation for the rest of their lives. Thank you, MCM! We are so happy to be part of the Monarch Christian Montessori family, and we look forward to having our daughter enroll when she turns two!
Monarch Christian Montessori incorporates both Montessori and Christian education that enables an ideal learning environment for our son. My wife and I are also pleased at the clean, organized and calm environment for the children and staff. The teachers are very friendly and are committed to helping the child develop in all aspects, academically, spiritually, and socially, as they progress through their early childhood years. The director, Mrs. Grace, is always available, responsible, caring and dedicated to the school, staff and children. She is very prompt in answering emails, responding to questions, and suggestions or concerns, which are important for the parents' involvement in the school experience. Furthermore, another aspect that distinguishes MCM is that the academic subjects, such as math, reading, and writing, are also incorporated in the afternoon activities, further enhancing the educational experience that in my experience, is not offered at other schools. MCM also offers extracurricular activities, such as Taekwondo, music, and art classes, which are available to further the children's education. My son is in the primary classroom and is looking forward to Kindergarten. I would happily recommend Monarch Christian Montessori and am glad to have my son at this school!
We started our first daughter at Monarch Christian Montessori right after her second birthday. The same day that we started her at MCM, I gave birth to our second daughter. The teachers and directors at MCA provided immense support and kindness and were able to make my older daughter's transition very smooth. I feared that with so much change at once, she would regress or act out, but they loved her from the start and helped her through all of the changes going on around her. She has since thrived at MCM, and my husband and I smile everyday when she comes home and we find out what she learned that day. The teachers at MCA and the Montessori curriculum give the children the chance to learn more than I could imagine that age group to be capable of learning and at their own speed. I am continually impressed with the Montessori principles and how they play into everyday learning and life for my now three-year-old. In addition to all of the love and learning that MCM provides my daughter, I cannot say enough about the parents and the community that MCM provides. The first day I dropped off my daughter, I was so nervous for her; I sat in the lobby of the school and watched her on the TV monitor. One by one, parents went in, dropped off their children, and came out to sit and talk with me, assuring me that my daughter was fine. The parents, staff, and director are always so incredibly supportive of each other. A recent example of the community environment is when my daughter turned three, another parent, who happened to notice her birthday on the wall, brought in a beautiful cake for her. I love feeling like my daughter's school is just like her family, and they care for her just like we do.
Our children have been attending Monarch Christian Montessori for a little over a year. From day one, our experience has been 100% concern-free. The Montessori structure provides an ideal balance of "learning and fun". We are fortunate to know that our children are not only receiving thoughtful attention by their devoted teachers, but also are learning, playing, making friends, and developing into intelligent individuals with every week that passes. The teachers at MCM made my toddler's transition very easy, and she arrives and leaves with a smile. She is in a positive and safe environment.
I know that my child had a wonderful day at the school when she runs into my arms and exclaim "I had fun day at school" or "Come, Mommy! I have to show you what I did!” Even at home, she will burst out into songs and motions that she learned at school, even teaching us, her parents, the Zoo-phonics! Knowing that she is surrounded by such wonderful teaching and God's grace all day long truly makes me grateful for His provisions and blessings through MCM! I am at peace during the work day, knowing that she is well taken care of and seen as God's precious and special gift, just as we see her. Thank God for Monarch Christian Montessori!
